As I mentioned in the previous post the Vincennes Castle is at the end of the 1 metro line. La Defense and the Grand Arch are at the other end and it couldn't be more different. We went to this area under recommendation from Steven and Roger - thanks guys. As we came out of the metro it felt like we had entered a sci-fi movie.

We think this area was the Parisian version of Times Square. It was called "Le Quatre Temps". |

The area is named for this statue, "La Dèfense Da Paris", erected in 1883 to commemorate the soldiers who defended Paris in the Franco-Prussian War. |

The below photos were taken from the same spot turning 180 degrees. The 2 arches are perfectly lined up. The Arc de Triomphe would fit inside The Grand Arch.
PS - This is the first day we haven't gone into a church. We may be going to hell. We'll probably pass through these gates by Rodin.
