The End of the Rainbow

After our visit to Montmartre. We jumped on the metro and headed to the Arc de Triomphe. Then walked down the Champs-Elysèes to the Jardin Tuileries, Louvre over the Seine and back to the apartment.  All of this was in and out of rain. There were so many people out we both found it to be exhilarating

Looking toward the Eiffel Tower from the Place De La Concorde.

If you are a Tour De France fan like we are you will recognize the Obèlisque the cyclist ride around on the last day.

There was a special art installation in the Tuileries.  They love to exhibit modern art in the gardens.

This one is titled "I like America"  It was my favorite.

We passed through the courtyard of the Louvre.

Then on to the Pont Des Arts where lovers attach a lock to the fence and throw the key into the Seine to lock their love for eternity.

We looked up from the locks to see this.

Turns out Paris is at the end of the rainbow.

  1. Somewhere over the rainbow
    Way up high,
    There's a land that I heard of
    Once in a lullaby.

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
    Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
    Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
    Away above the chimney tops
    That's where you'll find me.

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Bluebirds fly.
    Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

    If happy little bluebirds fly
    Beyond the rainbow
    Why, oh why can't I?
