Signage

One of the fun things in Paris is all of the signage on the stores.  Some of it is very old and some is very clever.  I am sure this is a Paris tradition as it is highlighted in the Musee Carnavalet, a museum about the history of Paris, with a room dedicated to signs.   I highly recommend this museum, it is in the Marais and you can spend several hours in it.  In fact Patsy and I got lost in it.   Plus it is free.

Apparently you could buy crowns at a store with this sign.  LOL

This is the original sign for La Chat Noir cabaret.

We wondered what this was for, a tailor or a scissor maker?
I have an idea I would have frequented this store.

Here are some photos of signs we enjoyed around the city.

This was on a small street near our apartment.

Love this wine shop sign.

This is much smaller than you would expect.

Another wine shop.

I wish I had all of these copper pots

Had to take this photo in homage to Patsy's pig collection.

No idea why they have an alligator on the sign.

Must be a good place to get escargot.

Below are a couple of streets in our neighborhood.

For me the signs are one of the things that make Paris so special.
Just walking around the city is so interesting.
